On May 16, 2019 the UdSU rector, Professor Galina V. Merzlyakova met with the Senior lecturer of the Department of History, Politics & Philosophyof the Manchester Metropolitan University Catherine Danks. The key issue of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for further cooperation between UdSU and the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Between May 14th - 16th 2019, Udmurt State University is hosting professor of Law Cynthia L. Fountaine from Southern Illinois University (USA) who is invited to give lectures on the US Legal System for students and professorsof the UdSU Institute of Law, Social Management and Security.

On April 25, 2019 students of the Translation Department at Granada University took part in the UdSU Week of Youth Science that is held annually by Udmurt State University.

On Saturday March 30, 2019, the Association of African Students, Udmurtia (AASU) organized an independence day celebration for the peoples of Gambia, Ghana and Namibia who celebrated their independence day on 18 February, 6 March and 21 March respectively at House of People's Friendship. Our special attendees included Yakubu Abdul and Akinlade Olusola (Patrons); Maria Tsareva, an officer of House of People's Friendship and Gabriela Maror (curator) from Kalashnikov ISTU; and a total number of 15 African students from Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, Liberia, The Gambia and Namibia were presented at the event.

Last Thursday, on March 21st, students of Udmurt State University had a unique opportunity to attend a video conference with one of the Spanish Bases in Antarctica, the Gabriel de Castilla base, on Deception Island that is about 100 km away from the continent. Managed by the Land Force of the Army, this base is inhabited by approximately 30 people who are mainly military people and scientists. Their mission on the Antarctica is to conduct logistic and scientific activities.

On December 20th, 2018 the Udmurt State University in collaboration with the US Consulate General in Ekaterinburg organized a seminar entitled “Art Therapy as an Instrument in Work with People with Disabilities” aimed primarily atstudents and professors of UdSU Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Technologies. The topic, however, occurred to be very timely for a wide range of specialists and attracted social workers, art therapists, vocational therapists, speech therapists, volunteers, government representatives of Udmurt Republic. About 150 people participated in the event.

On April 23 an American lecturer and Fulbright ETA Matthew Orr delivered a lecture on US education.

On April 11 a series of lectures under the common title of “Tchaikovsky brings together” was read by both Russian and international lecturers in the V.A. Zhuravlev Research-Academic Library.

This year Udmurt State University is holding International Week on November 13-17.
