On December 2, Head of the UdSU International Education Center Ekaterina Gorbunova and Head of International Relations Department Larisa Evseeva represented Udmurt State University at the meeting with the Culture and Education Counselor of the Embassy of Republic of Iraq in Russian Federation (Moscow) Mr. Habib Mutashar. During the meeting the UdSU representatives told about the long experience of educating students from Iraq and discussed the possibility of cooperation on the higher level.
The meeting was very warm and friendly, and the discussion helped to define the prospects of the cooperation development. Mr Mutashar highly appreciated the level of readiness UdSU shows when enrolling Arabic-speaking students. Not only the quality of education students get at UdSU matters, but also the access to informative and instructive resources in Arabic and the possibility to apply for study through social networks: in Facebook students can find the UdSU page in Arabic
These days UdSU is a leader among Udmurt HEIs in number of international students and particularly Iraqi students. Now in UdSU Iraqi students study at all levels of education: from preparatory courses to graduate programs. Mainly, this great number of international Iraqi students was attained by UdsU cooperation with Office for Culture and entering the list of the Russian HEIs accepted by Department of Education of Republic of Iraq.
UdSU actively supports development of cooperation of Russian and Arabic HEIs. Rector’s Councilor Semyon Buntov actively took part in the work of the II Forum of Rectors of Russian and Arabic HEIs, which took place in Moscow State University on November 28. He got acquainted with the best development practices of educational and scientific cooperation of Russian and Arabic universities. Also he shared his experience of educating international students in UdSU.
