The Institute of Natural Sciences and the UdSU International Relations Office have launched a new project for international students – "Seasons of the year in Udmurtia" this academic year. The project is a part of the adaption programme targeted at the UdSU international students.
During the academic year, our students from various countries will have a chance to take part in interesting excursions, meetings, trips to get acquainted with the changes of our region in autumn, winter, spring and summer.
The first event has already taken place on Sunday, September 24. Students of the Institute of Language and Literature, the Institute of Natural Sciences and the Institute of Law, Social Management and Security took advantage of the invitation of young teachers of the Institute of Natural Sciences – Mikhail Zagumenov (Associate Professor) and Elena Ovechkina (Deputy Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences for International Relations) to look at the beauty of the forest during the "golden autumn" and learn the basics of "quiet hunting" – so in Russia they call a hike for mushrooms.
The idea of the project arose due to the fact that Russia is one of the unique places on our planet where 4 astronomical seasons meet. The fact is that there are only two such belts on our planet: one in the Southern Hemisphere, and the other in the Northern. And I really want to show and tell our international students about the peculiarities of each season!
