On February 21, a poetic evening called "Language Mosaic" dedicated to the International Mother Language Day was held in the assembly hall of the UdSU Educational and Scientific Library. The event was organized by two UdSU institutes – the Institute of Language and Literature and the Institute of Natural Sciences.
The event aimed at presenting the linguistic diversity of the UdSU student community. The "Language Mosaic" was attended online by students and teachers of the partner university – Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages.
International students read their favorite poems dedicated to their native language, culture or their country in their native languages. At the beginning of the evening, the students of the Institute of Language and Literature presented poems in different languages on the stage. A poem dedicated to the Russian language was read by Galina Shishkina. We heard the Udmurt speech from the lips of student Ekaterina Nikolaeva, she read a poem by Flor Vasiliev "Native language". The baton was picked up by Elvira Khusainova, after reading a poem by the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai "Native Village". Murodali Jalalov addressed the audience in Uzbek. Our esteemed partners from Namangan responded and also introduced us to the beauty of the Uzbek language.
Students of the Institute of Natural Sciences – Rojas Aguayo Ana Belen (Bolivia), Orazdurdieva Aylar (Turkmenistan), Saragih Rona Jasmine Arkhoon (Indonesia) – read works in Spanish, Indonesian and Turkmen languages. Alaaeldin Abdelaziz Ali introduced us to the culture of the Middle East countries by reading a poem by the Arab poet Abu at-Tayyib al-Mutannabi. And a student from Vietnam, An Hoang, melodiously introduced the Vietnamese language. All the works were also performed in translation into Russian. Some of the poems were translated by Russian poets, other translations were made by our students. The translation was presented by students of the Institute of Language and Literature from Uzbekistan Kirill Gusakov and Angelina Kushnareva.
The evening turned out to be emotional. We hope that in the future we will continue to hold similar joint events and implement new joint projects.
