«GoGreen with Russian»: final touches

International students, UdSU teaching and administrative staff gathered in the university library on August 20 to officially close the “GoGreen with Russian” summer school.

Throughout the 2-week eco-course foreign students were learning about the nature of the Udmurt Republic and its environmental issues, history of Izhevsk, culture of the Udmurt people, and mastering the Russian language. They attended daily eco classes delivered by the leading researchers of the institutes of natural sciences and civil defense, performed tests to monitor natural environment on the university presmises, visited Izhevsk zoo, university botanical garden, ethnographical museum of Ludorvay, observed wild birds in Pikhtovka fishing farm etc..

At the closing ceremony some of the students presented reports on environmental issues. Everybody shared their impressions and observations on the course. School participants tested their new knowledge by answering Kahoot quiz questions, received certificates and transcripts in recognition of their achievements.

The summer school project gave its atendees a chance to look at Izhevsk and our region from different angles: as an industrial center with long history of manufacturing; as a nature germ with abundant flora, fauna, and well-preserved wildlife; as a place where many ethnicities carrying their own culture and traditions create a cohesive and colorful community.
