On November 28, 2022 at the UdSU Institute of Udmurt Philology, Finno-Ugric Studies and Journalism the Center for Digital Competences in the Udmurt language and culture was opened. The Center is established as an outcome of the implementation of the subproject "Udmurt Language and Culture in the Digital World" under the University Development Program for 2021–2030, supported by the grant of the national program for strategic academic leadership "Priority 2030".
The Center aims to develop a database on Udmurt folklore, dialectology and toponymy, to create and implement an online spell checking system in the Udmurt language, to launch a unified educational portal for all the education levels - from preschool to higher education- in the Udmurt language, local history and traditional culture, to develop children's games in the Udmurt language that will help to learn the Udmurt literature, natural sciences, and traditional culture in their native language.
