21st January: International Ph.D. Student Day

Studying at post-graduate school and research in general are the types of activities that not everybody is keen on. They require a certain mind-set, perseverance, creativity, as well as strong motivation, and unconditional love for science and truth.

The more astounding is the fact that some researchers do not make it the easy way: they choose to conduct their research abroad; communicate with their colleagues, study materials and write articles in a foreign language.

The Udmurt State University is justly proud of the scope and results of research performed by our scientists in such areas as mathematics, physics, biology, psychology etc. In many cases, they deal with problems having major importance on regional, national and even international levels. For this very reason they are oftentimes “seeking the truth” together with their foreign colleagues and young researchers.

On the 21st of January, when the world is celebrating the Ph.D. Student Day, we want to share the stories of 2 Iraqi scientists who finished UdSU post-graduate school - Al-Kasvan Majid Mohammed Jasim and Algabri Khalid Shea Khiarullah. They will tell you how they got into UdSU and how it reflected upon their life; what they think of UdSU and Izhevsk; give their advice to all science enthusiasts.

Our best wishes for the International Ph.D. Student Day!
