UdSU Rector takes part in the Russian-Uzbek online educational forum

On May 27 the UdSU Rector, Prof. Galina V. Merzlyakova participated in the Russian-Uzbek Online Educational Forum.

The event was attended by A. Abduvakhitov, the President of the Uzbek Repunblic, V. Falkov, the Minister of Science and higher Education of the RF, I. Mazhidov, the Minister of higher and vocational education of the Uzbek Republic, and the rectors of the leading Russian and Uzbek universities.

The forum’s agenda included such topics as interim results of implementation of bilateral agreements in research and education areas, research developments within cooperation framework between Russian and Uzbek educational centres, and innovative collaboration activities.

The Udmurt State University has been building its educational cooperation with Uzbek Republic for a long time. Presently, over 50 students representing different Uzbek regions are studying at our university.

Recently, the UdSU-Uzbek relations moved to a new level: thus, the delegation of UdSU lecturers and officials held a number of career-counselling events for Uzbek high school students. The university is also joining activities run by the branch of Rossotrudnichestvo in Tashkent aimed at promoting Russian language and culture. One such example is the virtual tour of P. Tchaikovski’s Memorial Estate in Votkinsk broadcast to Uzbek audience which took place on May 18.

The forum once again emphasized the importance of educational cooperation between the two countries, the high results yielded by joint efforts, and outlined the prospects the partnership relations.
