Between October 6th and 11th, 2019 Latypov Amir, a student of UdSU Institute of History and Sociology majoring in International Relations, presented Udmurt State University and Udmurtia at the Russian-American summit of Young Leaders in the category “Business development and economic affairs”. The summit was held in Suzdal, Vladimir and Moscow by the Future Simulation Center in education, economics and socio-humanitarian sphere (Moscow), under the slogan “We project our future together”.

During the summit participants attended lectures on differences between Russian and American types of political protocol, history of the Russian-American relations and challenges they face. Also there were held gaming simulations of the Russian and the USA presidential elections, negotiating, and conclusion of different protocols. Based on the results of discussions, consultations and negotiations, the parties worked out joint decisions and formalized them in the form of protocols. During the simulations, agreements were drawn up between the US and Russian ministries, a decision was made to create special electronic visas for young entrepreneurs under the age of 35 years. The participants of the Summit developed the Green Initiative with the Ecology Committee - import duties will be lowered for a number of companies producing environmentally friendly products, which will contribute to the growth of mutual trade turnover.

Amir shares his impressions about the Summit: “The working days in Moscow were very busy: we visited the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Russian Foreign Ministry, Roscosmos. During my participation in the Russian-American Summit of Young Leaders, I learned a lot: I got acquainted with the protocol of summit meetings, learned what challenges the Russian Federation and the USA face in the international arena, and also improved my English, as it was a working language of the event. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to attend the Russian-American Summit of Young Leaders! ”

The gained experience and skills will be applied by Amir at the Izhevsk UN Model in his role of the President of Human Rights Board. The Izhevsk UN Model will be launched on November 25th this year and will be held at Udmurt State University under financial support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
